Google AdSense Introduces New Person Interface; Now utilized by 2 million publishers – TechCrunch
Google AdSense, the search engine giant’s ad serving application, unleashes a brand new user interface for its 2 million publishers. The AdSense user interface allows publishers to set up, manage, optimize, and report on the ads on their websites.
AdSense actually has two products: one is AdSense for content, which enables publishers to generate income from ads that are placed alongside their content. The other is AdSense for Search Results Pages, which allows publishers to place a custom Google search engine on their website and generate income from ads that appear alongside search results. However, we recently found out that the majority of AdSense publishers are using the content product.
Google rolled out a private beta test for 30,000 publishers a year ago, but is now opening the new interface to the public. The new user interface will be available in more than 30 languages and in each of the 200+ countries where AdSense is available.
One of the major changes to the user interface is that Google Publishers have more data insights, including a number of new, simple, graphical reporting tools. Publishers can generate performance reports by ad type, ad size, ad unit, targeting type, and bid type for total revenue and other metrics over custom time periods. Google now also provides detailed graphics on impressions, clicks and revenue.
Google has also made ad control more powerful so that publishers can filter which ads and advertisers they want on their website. Publishers can now filter ads based on specific advertisers, categories, and ad networks. It’s also easier to review and manage placement-related ads. Publishers can now search, allow or block ads by ad type, keyword, URL, or network in the ad review center.
And AdSense now makes it easier to view earnings and billing information, run reports, or make changes to your account.
Google will continuously give publishers access to the new user interface over the next few days. While publishers can still use the older version of the administrative interface, the search giant expects the new user interface to become popular, especially with the new report analytics and controls.
