Google Analytics & AdSense don’t obtain a Core Internet Vitals Cross
Google’s Martin Splitt discussed Google products and why they don’t get a break-core web vitals rating. Just like other third-party web add-ons, Google’s products can negatively impact key web vital signs.
Google products slow down websites
Google Ads and other products can slow down a website. Many publishers are frustrated that the Google AdSense code is one of the biggest offenders on the internet.
One would think that Google would give its own advertising network a pass. But that’s not the case and Martin explains why.
Loren Baker, Founder of the Search Engine Journal, found that Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Tags can negatively affect the most important web vital signs.

Martin Splitt nodded in agreement.
All third-party add-ons have been treated equally
Martin explained that Google Search doesn’t differentiate between third-party add-ons, including Google’s.
From the search page, everything is treated the same when it comes to the most important web vitals.
Martin stated:
“Yes. If it gets slower, it gets slower. It doesn’t matter where it comes from, whether it comes from Google or not.”
Google search is separate from the rest of Google
Martin went on to share how Google Search is separated from the rest of the company with no outside search help or assistance from the search page.

Martin Splitt:
“And that’s something people need to understand that Google Search, as the search engine you use and the search engine you work with, is very well separated from the rest of Google.
And that’s because it would be unfair to give preference to our products, right?
I wouldn’t accept it if we say, oh yes, no, sure, we’re giving analytics and ads a pass and any other ad provider or analytics provider has to grapple with the fact that they are actually for the most important web vitalities need to optimize.
We do not do that. Everyone is on the same playing field and obviously people try to be on google sometimes, hey (maimed), can you help us with that and we are like this webmasters forum, here are the office hours, here is the documentation you get.
They are public support channels for everyone, including Googlers.
So I find it very risky when people like, well, we’re going to use X because it’s a google thing.
It does not matter. If it makes your website slower, your website will slow down. “
Loren Baker observed:
“And then Analytics is also a front-end implementation. So there are ways to change the implementation on this side as well.”
Core Web Vitals and Third Party Apps
Granted, improving those core web vital signs can be a little painful. The solutions for dealing with Google products are the same as any other third-party app. There is no benefit to using Google products in terms of search.
