How Pam Sowder Harnessed the Energy of Community Marketing to Construct a $ 500 Million Enterprise

With over two decades of field and corporate experience Pam Sowder is a network marketing queen. Pam is one of the most influential women in direct selling, dedicated to adapting retailers’ daily needs to the challenges of everyday life. In 1994, Pam was a full-time mom at the time, and she soon realized, along with her husband, Dave, that they needed extra income. Pam was looking for work from home and couldn’t find much until one day she made a connection that put her on a path she could never have imagined. “One of Dave’s clients introduced me to network marketing and I was overwhelmed,” says Pam. Pam used her previous IBM sales experience, along with her desire to work from home, to reach the top positions in this company.

Pam left the company in 2000 after having been with them for six and a half years due to a sudden change of ownership and a lack of innovation. Because of her success and connections within her previous company, Pam was introduced to a new product developed in Mexico City: the ultimate Crazy Wrap body applicator. We named the company It Works because the product actually worked. I was called the original nappy girl, ”she laughs. “It took the product a decade to go mainstream before it caught fire. We had sales of $ 49 million and 2012 sales of $ 100 million. This year we more than doubled our expectations and exceeded $ 200 million in sales. “

For Pam, the transition from distributor to founder was easy because of the support and vision she had. However, she gained the new perspective of having employees, entering an office and feeling the stress and responsibility of building a sales area. “At some point in the first five years I thought we had to go out of business,” recalls Pam. “I went to a ‘warrior camp’ in New York State worried, stressed and dubious. But I went to the other side of the five day workshop and knew I had everything I needed to get my business and life up and running. I knew I had to pull myself up and just do it. ”

Despite the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, it works today! Global continues to grow. “People need a plan B in difficult times, and our business model offers an incredible option for people who are looking for one,” she explains. “Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok are all means of sharing the product and business model.”

By strengthening your digital presence, It! has increased their influence astronomically. In turn, Pam has also used the power of social media to share her methods, thoughts, and advice with other professional marketers. Pam connects the boundaries of entrepreneurship, network marketing and everyday life and hosts a weekly podcast to empower women entrepreneurs.

Looking to the future, Pam has her sights set on billion dollar status for the next several years.
