A 45-year-old woman reported missing was found dead in a hotel septic tank in the town of Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Police have arrested three people, including the woman’s husband, while the hotel owner, who is the main defendant, has been on the run since the incident. The body was recovered from the hotel’s toilet under construction on Monday in an almost decomposed state. The victim was identified only by her clothing. The woman had previously been reported missing at the Barwaadda Police Station.

According to police, the woman was caught in a fake network marketing racket owned by hotel owner Anand Mahto and promised Rs 12 billion. Deputy Police Commissioner Amar Kumar Pandey said the victim also paid 60,000 rupees to the hotel owner as part of the program. However, when the woman and her husband reached the hotel to sign an agreement, the two parties engaged in a furious battle.

Pandey said Anand has been on the run since the woman was murdered. However, the police arrested the hotel chef Rajesh Napit and Chhotu Mahto, who used to manage the accounts. The victim’s husband is also in police custody.

A missing police report from the 45-year-old woman’s brother, Mahesh Kumar, is also part of the investigation. According to the complainant, the wife and husband were lured into fake network marketing by an Rs 12 crore program and invited to sign an agreement. The couple first arrived in Barwadda, from where they reached Rajganj. However, the hotel owner fled after the kidnapping of the woman, added the complainant.

The police have yet to find out how many people were involved in this murder, but they are investigating the case to find out the reason for the woman’s death. The body was sent for an autopsy.
