There have been many updates in the social media world in the past few weeks as it moves to its fullest where users can engage in eCommerce activities, center their creative interests on platforms like YouTube, and center much more as events progress.

However, there have been a couple of specific updates that intrigued the concepts of a tech expert and are of paramount importance to YouTubers as there is now improved ad control on AdSense that allows the creator to display any ad they want and not want. Allow users a say and some form of transparency to see where and what has been used. The distribution has just been extended to MCN-controlled channels so that they can use and assert the powers of editorial control. This was previously only allowed for YPP channels and can now be accessed with the associated AdSense account with the channel.

YouTube first tested the auto-chapter function for new videos. Given the amazing success of these auto chapters, it is decided that these will also be there for all existing videos for all users. If you know that certain users don’t need to practice the Auto Chapters feature, there is an option to turn the option on or off at any time. However, due to the chapters highlighted by the algorithm, there are only a few videos that can be automatically run on the videos instead of the manually entered chapters.

The third update that hit the docks on YouTube this week was for evergreen videos on the channels, videos that audiences have seen over an extended period of time. Additional insights are added to these videos for the content creator to explore and edit. The findings met with a positive response and enabled YouTube to extend them across the board to all YouTubers.

YouTube has also recognized the importance of many content creators using the Studio mobile app to create, and has expanded the functionality of the yellow icon that was previously only available to desktop users. Self-certification questionnaire options will not be available, however, but are expected to be added in future featured updates.

The fifth and most user-influenced update is that YouTube added the hashtags in the explore option to get an overview of the recently trending products on the site. The trends are identified by the maximum growth that users dedicate to a particular hashtag, which is further analyzed by the algorithm.
